Brazil's National Petroleum Agency (NPA) released data showing that, expecting with a record sugar cane harvest,and biodiesel production output began to rebound since low point under Corona-Virus pendemic, Brazil's Ethanol production output reached a record high in May.
According to NPA, Brazilian sugar mills produced 8.46 billion liters of Ethanol in May, more than double the same period of last year. This is the highest output since NPA establishment in 2000 year. Absolute Ethanol production output in May was 10.08 liters, down 13.7% year-on-year.However, Absolute Ethanol production in May increased by 74.8% compared with April.
Meanwhile, Brazil's biodiesel output began to rebound in May. Brazil planed to increase the use of biodiesel to 15% by March of 2023, with an annual increase of 1 percentage point.Brazilian Vegetable Oils Industry Association (Abiove) predicted Brazil's biodiesel output would be around 7 billion liters in 2020 year, while the Brazilian Biodiesel Producers Association predicted it would reach 6.9 billion liters. But these predictions were made before outbreak of Corona-Virus pendemic.
